ALBA COMMITMENT
At Alba we promote sustainable living as we believe that the way we live our everyday life has a huge impact on the future.
Why does Alba support Tree Planting?
Environmental issues, global warming, pollution and climate change is inevitable to talk about, especially in the fashion industry with factories and clothes production playing a large part within these problems worldwide.
Since its creation 10 years ago, Alba has been part of the sustainable fashion industry. It is our responsibility now to use the knowledge we acquired over the years in this niche within the fashion world to raise our voices about the fight against climate change.
Climate change is a chain reaction, negative environmental actions from one side of the world will be felt on the other side of the world in one way or another. It is in our hands to stop this cycle and spread positive actions.
As a small sustainable children’s fashion brand based in Denmark, a small country in Northern Europe, we look to be part of that change.
Why should you support
planting trees with us?
Trees we all need
Planting Trees protects our future by fighting deforestation and worldwide environmental issues.
Help Achieve Sustainable Development Goals
The Caribbean Tree Planting Project (CTPP) promotes tree planting and empowers Caribbean youth in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the region.
Raise children with knowledge
By educating our children about Tree Planting, we ensure they can live a sustainable life in balance with nature.
Plant trees to make positive
changes on our planet.
We got together with Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance, an organization operating in regions of the Caribbean vulnerable to climate change, to help raise funds to fight the effects of hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding, raising sea levels, economic and social issues… One of the organization’s largest mission was planting one million trees in 21 Caribbean countries between 2020 and 2021 with its Caribbean Tree Planting Project.
As the project celebrates its achievements of the past year and extends its operation, we wish to come on board with and support this project, and the team behind it, in the best way we can: by creating a fundraising shirt which aims to bring in donations through its sales.
We got the inspiration for the print from a video shared with us from St. Kitts and Nevis, which highlights the islands’ oldest tree, a 400-year-old baobab tree.
Baobab trees have a significant meaning for the region as it is one of the sacred trees of the Caribbean. The baobab tree, or as people call it “tree of life”, is a symbol of power, longevity, presence, strength, grace, life, and lots more.
By choosing this gigantic and well-respected tree as the print for this special collection, we aim to spread the message of unity and raise awareness around the importance of tree planting, not just in the Caribbean but all around the world.
